Jack DonaghyIf there's one thing I know for sure, it's that kissing up to people that you don't actually want to be near — but have to be near for the sake of your own self-preservation — is a necessity.
Example: Anytime you're shooting the shit with friends, coworkers or frenemies, you have to butter yourself, because no one else will. And trust me, everyone eats that up, but most people enjoy a good story about you in a bad way, than the good story you can make up about yourself.
Just people being people.
